Activists and union reps will now have a great place to work from in the heart of North Wales thanks to the launch of a dedicated UNISON Cymru/Wales office in Colwyn Bay.
UNISON representatives attended a grand opening of the office (pictured above) which will provide a key space for activists and union reps to operate from when they are in the region and can also be used by convenors and NEC members as well.
Kay Laudan, Ynys Môn Convenor, UNSAIN Gwynedd, Môn a Prifysgol Bangor, said: “What a privilege to be at the start of something so new and dynamic.”
Gwawr Eilian, branch secretary for UNSAIN Gwynedd, Môn a Prifysol Bangor, also welcomed the additional office space and said: “I’m delighted that the region has opened a new lay side office in Colwyn Bay.
“The regional officers have always been extremely supportive of our branch and we have a very good working relationship.
“Being a branch secretary can sometimes be quite isolating and having this facility is a positive step forward, strengthening our partnership as we continue to work on behalf of our members.”
Jan Tomlinson, UNISON North Wales Health branch secretary, took part in the office launch and said it showcased partnership working with branches and the regional team.
Jan said: “It is a great way forward for us and so welcoming and inclusive for all.
“The warm welcome afforded and extended to all the North Wales branches is well received.”
