The event at the Golden Cross in the capital was attended by guests including Pat Jones, chair of the UNISON Cymru/ Wales LGBT+ Self Organised Group, UNISON president Libby Nolan, UNISON Cymru/Wales convenor Jan Tomlinson and Welsh Government Deputy Minister for Social Partnership, Hannah Blythyn MS.

The 2024 Year of the LGBT+ Worker campaign follows UNISON’s successful Year of Disabled Workers campaign in 2022 and the Year of Black Workers in 2023.

It is an excellent opportunity to engage LGBT+ workers, grow the union’s LGBT+ membership and embed LGBT+ rights in its organising, campaigning and bargaining strategies.
