A motion for solidarity with women in Gaza received a standing ovation at the 2024 UNISON Women’s Conference.
UNISON Cymru/Wales and the South Gas assistant branch secretary Tansaim Hussain-Gul (pictured above) gave an emotional speech at the event.
UNISON Cymru/Wales women’s committee chair Elizabeth Mitchell said: “Conferences and events such as this provide the power to our Cymru/Wales women to come together with women across the UK to share issues that are common to them all, and to support one another in the move towards gaining equality.
“It was an honour and pleasure to represent our members at this year’s national conference.
“As the new chair of the women’s committee, I look forward to progressing the great work it does over the next two years.”
