Young people from branches across Wales gathered in Cardiff for a series of training sessions aimed at the next generation of UNISON members.
Charlotte Turner-Clark of UNISON’s Swansea Bay Health Board branch attended this year’s event.
The 23-year-old said: “I thought the weekend was very well planned and thought out, as we were all relatively new it was very informative and eye opening to see the power that UNISON holds.
“It was great to get to know people from different areas and backgrounds to see their perspective on different union topics.”
Area organiser Tom Hemmings ran this year’s young members weekend and said: “After a successful young members meeting, there was a range of ideas discussed from Tolpuddle to a visit to the Big Pit Museum to further education opportunities and discussion around some of the biggest issues of the day including how the cost-of-living crisis is affecting young members today and how UNISON can help make an impact to its members.
“With the conference around the corner the members are up and active and ready for Bournemouth.”
