Vote YES for industrial action on pay in the NHS

It’s time to cast your vote for your pay, your colleagues, and the NHS – every vote is needed.

Most NHS staff were given just a £1,400 wage rise for this year, falling way short of the inflation-busting increase health unions said was needed to retain staff.

That works out as an increase of just 72p an hour.

It won’t prevent NHS staff leaving or encourage the new recruits the NHS so desperately needs.

If we can’t make the government think again everyone loses – staff, patients and the NHS.

So, on Thursday October 27 UNISON, is launching a ballot of health workers for industrial action on pay.

Only a clear vote for industrial action will bring the government to the negotiating table. The public supports you, and so do your colleagues. They know your pay matters, even if government ministers don’t.

A ballot paper will be sent to your home address from Thursday October 27 – it will be from UNISON in a red envelope. You need to post it back to arrive before Friday November 25.

A ballot helpline will be open from Tuesday November 1 until noon on Monday November 21.

The hotline number is 0800 0 857 857.

Not in UNISON? Join today at join.unison.org.uk or call free on 0800 0 857 857.

If you join by Tuesday November 15 you will be able to vote in the ballot.
