Council workers are due to protest outside the offices of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council after the local authority cut access to union reps.
UNISON is organising the event which is due to take place at 3pm on Wednesday November 8 outside Merthyr Civic Centre (pictured above).
Merthyr council has cut access to union reps from five down to two days a week.
This means issues such as grievances and disciplinary hearings, as well as general negotiations between management and trade unions, will now be delayed.
A spokesperson for UNISON Cymru/Wales said: “Whilst many workers will be fortunate enough to go through their career not needing individual representation, you never know when you will. You might find that when you do, it is not available for you.
“It is not just about individual representation through. UNISON deals with health and safety, welfare, and general terms and conditions, such as pay and gradings.
“In these times of pressure on public spending, meaningful negotiations between employers and trade unions are essential.”
