UNISON nominates Antoniw for special Welsh seat on Labour’s National Executive Committee

Public services union, UNISON Cymru Wales has today (Monday) nominated Senedd Member Mick Antoniw for the elected special Welsh seat on the Labour Party National Executive Committee (NEC).

UNISON’s Labour Link Committee agreed the nomination after interviewing both Mick Antoniw and Carwyn Jones MS this morning. Both candidates are UNISON members.

Mick Antoniw MS said,

“Being nominated for Labour’s NEC by such an important trade union is a great honour. I will work with UNISON to keep the interests of trade union members and our public sector workers at the forefront of Labour policy.”

Dan Beard, UNISON Cymru Wales Labour Link chair, said:

“Mick Antoniw is a great champion for working class communities. Like us, he campaigns for investment in quality public services and public service workers as a way to keep our communities healthy and lift people out of poverty.

“He will continue to be a powerful advocate for the people of Wales on Labour’s National Executive Committee.”
