ABMU strike suspended

Staff at Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board (ABMU) hospitals working in the sterilisation and disinfection units have today (Tuesday) suspended tomorrow’s scheduled strike action to allow for consideration of the board’s latest offer.

Donna Hutton, UNISON Cymru/Wales head of health said,

“ABMU healthcare workers continue to show marvellous unity and purpose in this dispute which has resulted in an improved offer. Their demand is only to be paid the rate for the job and for their skills and dedication to be properly recognised. Operating theatres, wards and clinics could not function without sterilisation workers and they need to be appropriately rewarded for the specialist role they undertake.”
